    Pros +

    • Food wxcellent. Taj Palace is one of Mumbai’s landmarks. It is part of all tours. No need for city tour if u are staying at Taj. It IS the city (at least from a tourist point of view). Walking outside is an experience in itself. Perfectly safe but the traffic and noise can be overwhelming. But do go out and watch how locals manoeuvre crossing traffic. Then fo out and practice!
    • Very classical architecture, lots of art and historical heritage in one place
    • The property itself is very nice and lives up to the Taj brand in terms of ambience and comfort.

    Cons -

    • Their web access to the concierge and spa prior to arriving coukd be better. Efforts at reaching the hotel directly or the concierge prior to visiting totally failed.
    • Not very suitable for children.
    • However, the checkout experience was disappointing. I was initially charged ₹6,000 for food that I did not order, and then there was an attempt to overcharge the room by Rupees 5,000. Thankfully, I had my Booking.com confirmation with the exact price, which helped resolve the issue. The staff member involved during checkout was Sapna Kumari. To their credit, the matter was eventually corrected, and a nice bouquet ? at the end was a thoughtful gesture. Still, such billing errors at checkout are stressful and not what one expects at a hotel of this standard.

Aman is very friendly and helpful he made sure to explain everything in this hotel you can see how proud he is in his workplace Rest of the staff are also friendlyOne of the best Indian restaurant I tried in a hotelThe swimming pool area is great

Problem in this hotel is the noise you hear from the cars in the street

Breakfast at Seaview room was excellent. Palace room has some oldie smell so we asked the staff to clear it up.

I booked the palace rooms under my name through booking.com but the staff (front desk) changed my name to one of my guests name in the invoice without asking me. So I didnot receive the points. When I called the palace they said duty manager will call they never called me back.

It is an experience to stay at this historic and elegance place. Room was very nice and spacious.

Everything is so expensive! Too many people outside and inside of the hotel. People traffic could be better managed. Service was a blend of excellent to just OK, but sometimes visible that service managers bullying staff.

This property is historic and directly across for the Gateway of India. We stayed in historical section of the hotel. The staff greeted us upon arrival and were available to answer all of questions. There are several restaurants, shops and a bar within the property along with Spa and pool facilities. We watched a light show in the evenings and breakfast was fabulous. We could walk from this hotel to everywhere we wanted to go. We would recommend this hotel.

Cleanness and service is the best .The security of the hotel is a very high. I forgot my gold earnings at the spa and checked out the second day .Didn’t realize until I reached the airport. The found rhem kept for me safe.

Service was exceptional Hotel smells of jasmine when you walk in. Restaurants and bars incredible. First 5 star hotel in India. Highly recommend!

Location to many attractions …in Mumbai even though you are going 10 miles to other dude it will take 1.5 hours with traffic. After a couple days we ventured out during day but stayed in for evening. Which was fine! The bars and restaurants are top tier!!

“While the hotel itself looks nice, my overall experience was very disappointing. The housekeeping staff were excessively intrusive, knocking on my door almost every hour in what seemed like an aggressive push for tips. It felt unprofessional and extremely disruptive. On top of that, the room I was given had a terribly loud air conditioner, making it hard to sleep or relax. It honestly felt like I was placed in one of the worst rooms available. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard.”

Iconic hotel, we stayed in main building, not tower . Like the imperial in delhi a piece of art and history, a must visit for us

The whole experience was nice. We especially loved the heritage tour by Mr Percy who took us through the history of Bombay and Taj.

The breakfast was not as good as we expected
